Jabu the Elephant
A 30 yr old African Bull Elephant in Botswana.
Jabu is one of two elephants cared for by the Living With Elephants Foundation. Living With Elephants Foundation (LWE) is Botswana based nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for rescued African Elephants in the sanctuary of the Okavango Delta, Botswana.
PDS has made Jabu a protective cover for is Leg Brace and two Leg Wraps to protect his right leg from abrasion by the left leg scuffing against it as he walks. The most recent shipped to Jabu the first week in July.
Jabu has been struggling with an injury to his front right leg carpus (or wrist joint) sustained in an altercation with an aggressive wild bull elephant about 18 months ago. The joint has since suffered reinjury twice. The most recent and most serious being in May of last year, when the ground gave way under Jabu while he was walking through a flood plain, and leading to noticeable angulation of the right limb.
